Su superficie pintada con Musou absorbe casi toda la luz visible, y las manecillas grises y los contadores empotrados del cronógrafo parecen flotar sobre un negro profundo. Las superficies mate de la caja y el brazalete rodean la esfera, mientras que los bordes pulidos y los pulsadores aportan el contraste justo. La caja de 41.2 mm tiene cristal de zafiro, manecillas e índices luminosos y escala taquimétrica. El movimiento de cuarzo de alta frecuencia de Bulova (262 kHz) impulsa un cronógrafo con contador de 60 minutos y contador de 1/20 de segundo. El diseño Lunar Pilot se inspira en la herencia espacial de Bulova, pero la esfera tan oscura de esta edición le da carácter propio.
