On August 2, 1971, a Bulova chronograph was worn on the moon, engineered by Bulova for the demands of the lunar environment. Now, the iconic design has been updated with our exclusive high precision quartz movement. Continuing Bulova’s legacy of precision timing with heritage-inspired design, the Lunar... Pilot chronograph from the Archive Series features a unique dial that reinforces our spacefaring history, and the 43.5mm silver-tone 316L stainless steel polished case, creating a dynamic presence on the wrist. Slim chronograph pushers and a crown featuring the Bulova tuning fork logo are perfectly proportioned and ideally positioned at 3 o’clock. Under the flat sapphire crystal, the six-hand chronograph dial is presented in a unique red and silver “panda” style, with a vibrant red inspired by the tone of the moon during a total lunar eclipse, sometimes referred to as a “blood moon.” A silver-white tachymeter ring offers contrast around the dial, which features a retro Bulova logo. The slim hands and applied markers offer high legibility and are applied with super-luminous material for low-light display. The silver-white recessed, circular grooved sub-dials include a 1/20 chronograph seconds counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds with a sweep hand at 6 o’clock, and 60-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. Powered by our proprietary high precision quartz technology, resonating at a frequency of 262khz for unparalleled accuracy with a sweeping chronograph hand,  this exceptional men’s timepiece is paired with a matching 3-link silver-tone stainless steel bracelet with a push-button deployant clasp and an interchangeable black leather strap with red contrast stitching, both of which feature an easy release system for quick changes. The Lunar Pilot chronograph brings the past to the present with a design from space exploration history, perfect for the modern adventurer.

  • In 1875, just as America was entering its golden age of industry and progress, one visionary leader would rise to ignite a series of iconic moments in our nation’s history – and transform the way the world perceived time.
Fueled by the era’s risk-taking ethos, Joseph Bulova presented one innovation after the next. Ultimately opening a small store in downtown New York City that would mark the beginning of his lifelong quest: to craft supreme quality timepieces for an ever-changing and dynamic landscape.
With an unwavering drive for perfection, efficiency and precision, quality craftsmanship became the foundation upon which Joseph Bulova built his brand. But what fueled the brand’s continual progress was its spirit of invention - pursuing innovation and technology both within the timepiece industry – and beyond.
