Seiko Prospex U.S. Special Edition SPB419

The blue dial of this U.S. Special Edition Seiko Prospex takes its inspiration from Michigan Blue Ice, bringing an icy, graduated color to Seiko's 1965 Heritage Diver silhouette. The blue unidirectional bezel continues the theme while serving its practical role as an elapsed-time scale. It's a distinctive regional story on a watch built around Seiko's long-running dive-watch design.

The 40.5 mm stainless-steel case and bracelet have a super-hard coating, while curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective inner coating protects the dial. Inside is Seiko's automatic 6R35 movement with approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 200 meters for scuba diving.

Our Take

We like how the blue-ice inspiration changes the mood of a familiar diver. The graduated dial has a cold, almost luminous look, but the 1965-inspired case and substantial power reserve make this much more than a color variation.
