Everyone counts on G-SHOCK for unceasing evolution. But check out this comprehensive reinterpretation, representing the G-SHOCK approach to construction and design that powerfully conveys the brand’s unwavering commitment to toughness. The GAV01 features an exterior with an organic form bringing together components with sharply defined edges, combined with a large, full-screen LCD topped by a metallic dial with openwork and employing the Shock Release Hand, among other features. With its strikingly innovative and original design concept, the GAV01 exudes G-SHOCK toughness, restating the brand’s never-ending spirit of challenge and commitment to delivering strength. Casio has developed a magnetic holding structure, a design where the hands, which are vulnerable to impact, are not directly fixed to the shaft but are attached using magnetic force. This magnetic attachment allows the Shock Release Hand (minute hand) to absorb and dissipate impacts effectively. This new technology also makes it possible to create larger hands and offers more flexibility in styling. Note: Because the structure uses magnetic attachment, the minute hand may shake due to impact or vibration. Additionally, immediately after an impact or vibration, the minute hand may temporarily shift out of position, but it will return to the correct position within a few minutes.

G-SHOCK, the watch that brought the new concept of toughness to the timepiece.
It began with a reckless challenge to the conventional wisdom of the day, a developer’s belief that it was possible to construct a watch that wouldn’t break, even if dropped. Project Team Tough was formed to build it in 1981.
The team created over 200 prototypes one after another over a period of about two years. They finally arrived at a shock-resistant structure. This marked the birth of a technology that is tough to the core.
And G-SHOCK has continued its unceasing evolution ever since, in pursuit of greater toughness in every respect, from structure and materials to functions. Today, the development team’s passion for challenge and constant efforts have reached fruition in Triple G Resist, a structure with the strength to withstand 3 types of gravitational acceleration.
