This Pink Panther Limited Edition has a surprisingly specific inspiration: The Pink Phink, the animated short in which the Pink Panther keeps turning the Little Man's house pink. Pink footprints cross the dial, the bezel numerals take their lettering from the cartoon's wet-paint sign, and the themed box recalls the freshly painted house. It's a little piece of the cartoon translated into a watch.

Limited to 9,999 pieces, the SRPM07 has an individually numbered caseback showing the Pink Panther hiding against a pink wall. It comes with a steel bracelet and an additional footprint-patterned nylon strap with “WET PAINT” at the tip. Inside the 38 mm stainless-steel case is Seiko's automatic 4R36 movement, with hand winding, a day-date display and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. A rotating bezel, Hardlex crystal, luminous hands and markers, and 100-meter water resistance complete the watch.

Our Take

We love that this edition tells an actual Pink Panther story instead of stopping at a pink dial. The wet-paint lettering and footprints reward anyone who remembers the cartoon, while the compact automatic watch underneath is easy to enjoy even when you're not explaining the joke.

Seiko's journey, which began in 1881, is a remarkable story of vision, innovation, and dedication. When Kintaro Hattori, a 21-year-old entrepreneur, opened his small shop in Tokyo’s bustling Ginza district, he laid the foundation for what would become one of the world’s most respected watchmaking companies. Initially, Hattori focused on selling and repairing watches and clocks, but his ambition was far greater. He envisioned creating timepieces that would not only be precise but also reflect the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.
In 1892, just over a decade after opening his shop, Hattori took a significant step forward by founding Seikosha, a factory dedicated to producing wall clocks. The name "Seikosha" means "House of Exquisite Workmanship," and it represented Hattori’s commitment to quality. By 1913, Seikosha had produced Japan’s very first wristwatch, the Laurel, marking a historic milestone for both the company and the nation’s watchmaking industry.
