The turquoise dial on this Seiko Prospex U.S. Special Edition is patterned after a sea turtle's shell. Turn the watch over and you'll find a sea turtle illustration on the caseback, a fitting touch for a watch already nicknamed the Turtle because of its rounded case. A black ceramic timing bezel frames the bright dial, while the included green silicone strap offers a more colorful alternative to the steel bracelet.

The 45 mm stainless-steel case houses Seiko's automatic 4R36 movement, with hand winding, an English/Kanji day-date display and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. Sapphire crystal with an inner anti-reflective coating, luminous hands and markers, a screw-down crown, 200-meter water resistance and ISO-compliant dive-watch construction make it a capable scuba diver.

Our Take

The turquoise shell pattern gives this Turtle a completely different mood from the usual dark-dial diver. We especially like that Seiko carried the sea-turtle idea onto the caseback, where it becomes a little discovery for the person wearing it.
